PETA bombards Bondi

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

PETA ACTIVISTS have swooped on fashion designer Camilla Frank's Bondi beach store in Sydney in an effort to force her from using fur.

Three PETA activists crouched in cages out the front of her store on Tuesday wearing fake-blood splashed faux-fur and carrying signs lecturing 'Camilla: Animals Suffer on Fur Farms'.

The last Aussie designer targeted by the lobby was Melbourne's Alannah Hill last year who received death threats against her son and was forced to enlist 24 hour security.

She ended up caving in to the lobby's demands after stating she was 'intimidated into consent'.

PETA mouthpiece Angie Stephenson has declared 'If Camilla refuses to talk to us and refuses to remove fur from her fashion we will be escalating our protests around her shops internationally'.

The designer closed the store during the ruckus and police were deployed.

The fur industry has really taken off in the last few years. In addition, fur prizes have doubled in the last 6 months.
