Kelis declares 'PETA are terrorists'

Friday, June 25, 2010

IN AN ESCALATING war of words outspoken singer Kelis has branded the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) as terrorists and says it is her right to eat and wear what she wants.

Earlier this year the singer responded to a harping letter by the lobby criticizing her diet and clothes by declaring on her myspace site that she would '... eat pterodactyl if you found some and you told me it was meaty and delicious'.

She also said PETA Founder Ingrid Newkirk was 'batty and certifiably insane'.

Revisiting the sentiments she has told USA Today that the lobby is a terrorist group and is muscling in on her individual rights.

'At the end of the day, they're terrorists and that's my issue. I don't think anybody's beliefs should be forced on anyone like that. I'm an American; I live here. It's my right, and that's my stance on it,' she said.

She also issued a warning to the group not to vandalize her furs with red paint.

'I wouldn't suggest that someone do that because you terrorize me, I'll terrorize you, basically.'

Brooke Shields a 'fur pimp' claims media whore PETA

Tuesday, June 8, 2010

SELF-PROFESSED 'press slut' People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has branded Hollywood beauty Brooke Shields a 'fur pimp' and taken a swipe at her career.

The screen legend sparked a nasty attack by the militant lobby last Tuesday after she recently attended a Kopenhagen Fur workshop where she was designing her own mink coat.

In a bitchy post on its website, the lobby's kindness was on full display:

'We understand that when some actors' careers begin to fade, they'll do just about anything to stay in the limelight, including appearing in eyelash-growing commercials and starring in short-lived TV shows. But Brooke, did you really want the world to remember you as a 'fur pimp' who stares agog at rows of animal skins?'

Unfazed by the nastiness, Shields cheekily said 'I will advocate that both my generation and the younger generation can wear fur and I will wear the fur garment when I follow my children to school, when I drink coffee and when I sleep.'
